Piezoelectric PMN-PT Crystal Products  

The single crystals of lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate solid solution, (1-x)[Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3]-x[PbTiO3] (PMN-PT) are a new generation of piezoelectric materials. The new material was formulated to exhibit very large electricmechanical coupling coefficents, high piezoelectric coefficents, high dielctric constants and low dielectric losses that results in improving bandwidth, sensitivity and source level in applications.

CTS(HCMC) develops and manufactures high quality PMN-PT single crystals for a broad range of applications. A variety of PiezoCrystal products now are available, including custom specifications: Plates, Wedges, Discs, Cylinders, Rings, Tubes and Cubes in four types of engineered domain configurations: d33, d31, d36 and d15.

Piezoelectric PMN-PT Crystal Custom Shapes are available:

The piezoelectric PMN-PT single crystal with PT-content 27~33% give the most acceptable properties. There are 2 compositional type of PMN-PT crystals.

  • PMN-0.27~0.30PT: for large signals
  • PMN-0.30~0.33PT: for small signals

Four working modes of piezoelectric PMN-PT crystals:

  • k33 mode: LE (Longitudinal Extension) mode
  • k31 mode: TE (Transvers Extension) mode
  • k36 mode: LS (Longitudinal Shear) mode
  • k15 mode: TS (Transverse Shear) mode

Now Large sized PMN-PT Piezocrystal Products commercially available:

  • Size: 2" Diameter
  • Thickness: 0.2 mm ~ 12.5 mm
  • Poling Direction: <001>, <110> and <111>
